STEM/Coding Workshop

We offer STEM/Coding in-school, off-site and in our own Qi STEM/Coding Workshop located in Ap Lei Chau near MTR South Horizons Station.

In this facility equipped with high-speed fibre optics wifi internet access, we host regular STEM/Coding educational activities for teachers under our Train-the-Teacher Workshop and students from partnering schools, and kid members from our partnering non-government organization (NGOs) to promote computer science related skills for children from age of 8 to 15.

2019 April STEM/Coding Workshop of TWGHs Lee Ching Dea Memorial College

We are delighted to be selected again to be one of the TWGHs Lee Ching Dea Memorial College’s STEM/Coding partners and suppliers.

Topics covered:

  • the understanding of basic hardware and software of a computer
  • coding language covered: Scratch & Python
  • Use Scratch and Python to programme physical computer device using Raspberry Pi Sense HAT and Camera Module

2019 April Outdoor Free STEM/Coding Activities for PeaceBox

Providing 400+ participating kids and families with the opportunity to learn more about computer and coding using Qi Computer Starter Kit.

2018 May 12 Global Scratch Day – Project Curiosity X WebOrganic

The event was designed for children between age 8 to 12. It was run for a 1-hour session on guided Scratch coding exercise.  Attending children learnt how to create their own games, animations, and interactive stories using the Scratch Coding Cards.

2018 Apr 20 to May 18 – Project Curiosity X Playtao Raspberry Jam for Lok Sin Tong Lau Tak Primary School

  • 5 weekly after class coding class to cover the topics of introduction to computer hardware using Raspberry Pi, basic coding using Hour-of-Code by Code.org and  Scratch by MIT, and physical computing using Raspberry Pi Sense HAT

2018 Mar 24 – Online and Unplug Coding Booth in Peace Box Event

  • 3 hours of fun and free coding activities by 250+ very smart girls and boys together with their parent
  • 1546 lines of code were written and many more learn about problem-solving and logical thinking skill that is central to coding using unplugged coding game

2017 Dec 9 – Hour of Code X Raspberry Jam

  • 4 one-hour sessions from 10 am – 4 pm
  • Our team and volunteering kids encouraged and facilitated the participation of the kids and their parents to learn more about computing and to take part of  the global Hour of Code event using much fun and interesting coding and physical computing activities based on familiar cartoon characters from Code.org, creation of e-Christmas Card using Scratch developed by MIT, and Sense Hat programming and motor control using Raspberry Pi computer platform
  • 22 children and parents attended, 2340 lines of code created
